Urban Studio is a boutique photography studio specialising in portrait and wedding photography. Urban Studio's Principal, Ken Kwan, is passionate about envoking an emotive response from his imagery. He has an eye for utilising natural light to its fullest and gets the most of the surroundings of his subjects. The feel of his imagery is bordering on a cinematic style. He tries to bring a variety of approaches depending on the project. For Wedding projects, Ken utilises a photojournalism approach. He takes a step back and allows the events of the day to unfold before his eyes. He captures the moments as if he plans on telling a story of the wedding to someone else through each image. For Portraiture projects, Ken looks for the personality of the subject to come out in his imagery. He emphasises a balance between shadows, environmental influences and a fashionable style.
